The global Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) market continues to grow, with total consumer spending reaching EUR 120 billion in 2025, up 14% from 2024. However, many developed markets are nearing saturation. As a result, revenue growth is increasingly being driven by pricing strategies, tier restructuring, and the introduction of ad-supported plans rather than by rapid subscriber increases. In regions such as Asia-Pacific and Central and Eastern Europe, saturation levels remain relatively low, presenting significant opportunities for further expansion.

Distribution partnerships with Pay-TV operators, telecom providers, and platform aggregators are becoming crucial for scaling operations and reducing customer churn.

At the same time, platforms are focusing more on profitability by prioritizing Average Revenue Per User growth, operational efficiency, and consolidation. Additionally, services are evolving their offerings, with live sports becoming a key differentiator for certain platforms, alongside increased investments in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and new entertainment formats to maintain user engagement.

Despite these changes, original content and established intellectual property (IP) remain central to attracting and retaining subscribers.
